Betsy and her hornsBetsy’s Band makes MOOsic for Community Dances every First Saturday in Cornwall, CT

Betsy’s Band provides Traditional New England Country Dance music for Motherhouse’s 1st Saturday Dances in Cornwall, CT. That is; tunes with a clear easy-to-follow dance rhythm. As an “open” band, we welcome any musician, playing any instrument, at any level. (In UDDER words, there’s RUM-EN-it for everyone). Betsy’s Band encourages more homegrown, organic, local entertainment right here in the northwest corner of CT. Dust off your instruments and join us!!!

Informal practices begin 6:30 Monday nights at Debra’s. (Call 860-672-0229/ 860-671-7945 for directions and just to be sure). Contact Debra@Motherhouse.us if you’re interested in playing with us. Ask and we’ll provide you with a set list for the next dance plus written music! For those who would play the next dance, there is a MANDATORY rehearsal at the Cornwall Town Hall. It begins at 6:30 on the Friday preceding the Saturday dance. Scroll down Dances for our Betsy’s Band dance schedule.
MOOsical cows
Betsy’s Band is named for Local Farm’s former boss and teaching cow, Betsy. Besides teaching many folks how to milk, she played a mean horn in the Local Farm grass section. Can’t you tell? We just CUDn’t pass up this chance at making lots of corny cow puns.
