A charter member of our board, Nita Colgate is always available to lend a hand with the Motherhouse Bookshelf in the Cornwall Free Library’s Children’s Room.

Karen Doeblin learned early on she wanted to live someplace beautiful and that she needed open space. Now she roams between NYC where she worked in a day school green house, and Cornwall where she helps her son train a handy steer at Local Farm.  Even though she and husband Rob have six children, she quips, “I finally understood people when I got to know these cows”.

Watercolorist and craftswoman, Jean Tyler, moved from Wisconsin to Connecticut in 2009 to be nearer her daughter and grand-daughter.  As a member of the Motherhouse board of directors, she does a handsome job of leadership based on old-style common sense and wisdom.
