OSLSS Pi(e) Equals What?
Celebrate the harvest season with a homegrown pie. Pluck a ripe squash, collect eggs, milk a cow, grind flour and render lard to make a delicious “pumpkin” pie from scratch.
All our Old Style Life Skills Series workshops take place in or near Cornwall, CT, run from 10:30 to 1:30 and include a pot-luck lunch. For more information, click on OSLSS in the Pages menu box below.

OSLSS A Time to Rest
Taking our cue from Mother Nature we will slow down and rest during this winter season so that we may greet the spring with renewed vigor.
New England old timers are sometimes called woodchucks. On this day we suggest following Woodchuck Wisdom. Instead of packing the family in a car to drive to an activity; stay home, snug in your burrow with your loved-ones. Encourage your children to share their favorite music, show, or game (even video games!) and REALLY listen, watch, participate and appreciate them. Fix a meal together and savor the preparation as well as the results. Eat by candlelight. Write letters together. Take a long salt and soda bath. Read a book. Sit by the window in a comfortable chair and watch the world outside. Consciously cherish yourself, your family, your life. Breathe…
